于餐桌中间的餐盘叫做主餐盘：Main Course Plate

位于主餐盘中间的当然就是餐巾纸啦：Napkin

下面我们来从左到右的来学习下刀叉的英文名：

左1：鱼叉 Fish fork

左2：主菜叉 Dinner fork

左3：沙拉叉 Salad fork

右1：海鲜叉 Seafood fork

右2：汤勺 Soup spoon

右3：鱼刀 Fish Knife

右4：主菜刀 Dinner knife

右5：沙拉刀 Salad knife

当然，不同国家的西餐（如法国餐、意大利餐），所使用的刀叉种类均有不同；另外，吃西餐时，不同过程（如头盘、正餐、甜点）时所使用的刀叉种类也有所不同。不过，大家吃西餐时只要记得左叉右刀就可以啦~~

再来看看酒杯的名称吧~~ 其实，盛装不同酒水的杯子其形状也是各不相同的，还是很好辨认的。

还是从左到右的看：

左1：水杯 Water goblet

左2：香槟杯 Champagne flute

左3：红葡萄酒杯 Red wine glass

左4：白葡萄酒杯 White wine glass

左5：雪莉酒杯 Sherry glass

刀叉系列

Fork 为西餐中常用的叉子。

Knife 为刀子，菜刀可表达为kitchen knife，削皮刀为paring knife。

Spoon 指勺子/调羹，指较浅的勺子。icecream scoop为冰激凌勺，scoop一般指比较深的勺子，多为半球形。漏勺可表达为strainer。

杯子系列

Cup 可以指茶杯，咖啡杯，一般指有手把的杯子，也可以指奖杯。

Glass 指玻璃杯/玻璃酒杯，如：brandy glass 白兰地酒杯。

Mug 指较大的杯子，马克杯，圆筒形杯子且有把手。

Bottle 指玻璃或塑料的瓶子，有瓶颈，一般没有手把，如 a beer bottle 啤酒瓶。

盘子系列

Dish 可泛指碟子，也可做一盘菜讲，比如main dish 为主菜。

Plate 为沿较浅，比较平的碟子。

Platter 则指大浅盘，通常为椭圆形，一般为放主菜（如鱼盘，海鲜拼盘等）的大盘子。

Saucer 指较浅较小的碟子，如小圆碟、茶托、花盆托。

Tray 则指运送菜品的大托盘，餐厅中较为常见。

器皿系列

Bowl 指碗，钵，也可指大酒杯。

Pot 可指壶/罐，多为有特定用途的壶（如可指浇花壶），也可指煮食用的较深的锅。

Kettle 也指壶，但多指烧水壶。

Tin 指有密闭包装的金属罐头，如 a tin of peas 一罐豌豆。

Jar 指玻璃罐子，一般配有盖子，如：a jar of honey一玻璃罐蜂蜜。

Shaker 指盖上有孔的调味瓶，如：salt shaker 盐调料瓶。

Set the Table 摆餐具

中文说摆餐具，但英文用set the table-布置桌子。

There are a few rules to remember when setting the table.

摆餐具的时候有几点规则要记住。

Set the plate for each spot right in front of the chair.

把盘子摆在每个人椅子的正前方。

Then, place the napkin to the left of the plate.

然后，把餐巾摆在盘子左侧。

You can fold it in half, if it's big enough.

如果它比较大，可以把它对折。

Also on the left side, you should place the fork, which will be on the napkin.

也是在左侧，你把叉子摆上，摆在餐巾上。

The knife and spoon go on the right side of the plate.

刀和勺摆在盘子的右侧。

The knife is closest to the plate

刀离盘子最近，

and make sure that the sharp side is facing inside (towards the plate).

刀刃那边要冲里（冲着盘子）。

The spoon will go to the right of the knife, with the bottoms even with each other.

勺摆在刀右边，底端对齐。

Water glasses go on the right side also,

装水的玻璃杯也摆在右边，

but they are placed right above the spoon and knife.

但是是在勺和刀的正上方。

If there is a bowl,

如果有碗，

you'll place it right on top of the plate,

把它放到盘子上面。

like an egg in a nest.
就像窝里的鸡蛋。
